WARNING: We the people declare our independence from crime. We have taken it upon ourselves to protect our families and our homes.

How VULNERABLE is your home?
While no home is ever 100 percent theft-proof, there are a number of important steps you can take to reduce your chances of a break-in. What's more, many aren't very costly or time-consuming. The most important thing to remember is that burglars are turned away by three main deterrents:
1. OBSTACLES - They want to get in and out fast! Anything that has the potential to slow them down becomes an automatic deterrent.

2. NOISE - Anything that creates noise, whether it be a dog, or an alarm, normally causes burglars to flee.

3. LIGHT - Burglars like to stay hidden. Most will not approach a well-lit area.

Remember, it's our goal to never even let an intruder see the inside of your home. And with little education, planning and a few handy tools, that goal is entirely possible. Stay informed, stay proactive, and keep those burglars at bay!

HOME ALARMS - Do you have an alarm? Many burglars in homes with an alarm system occur when the system is unarmed. There are many alarm options to choose from, all of which make excellent deterrents to burglary. They include hard-wired, wireless, local interior, local exterior, digital dialer and professionally monitored alarms. Wireless systems are an inexpensive solution that you can disconnect and removed easily if you move.

GUN SAFETY - If you have guns, it is an absolute necessity to have a proper gun safe. Secure Rite offers a variety of sizes and styles to choose from.

LEISURE LOCKS - Your home isn't the only thing that needs protecting! Items such as bikes, suitcases and even cars can benefit from Secure Rites wide range of innovative personal locks and locking systems.

EXTERIOR LIGHTS - Law enforcement has found that a majority of all intruders will not attempt to enter a residence that is well-lit. One of the best deterrents is adequate exterior lighting. Flood lights are good for moderate coverage of a large area. Spot lighting offers extra illumination to a specific area. And motion sensors are perfect when you're away or sleeping - lights come on when an intruder moves, making the intruder visible.

INTERIOR LIGHTS - Many burglaries occur when nobody is home. Anything that gives the impression of activity in the home is a deterrent, such as a varying lighting schedule provided by timers. Timers are especially important if you're planning to be out of town.

CHILD SAFETY - Drowning is a leading cause of accidental deaths of infants and children in the United States. In addition to a six foot fence, doors leading to the pool area should be equipped with a lock and alarms that sound an alert to busy parent who can't be everywhere at once. Every household that has children and a pool should be equipped with this safety product.

HOME AUTOMATION - In this day and age, there's a whole new world of high-tech home security options, including 'smart' keys fitted with their own compter chips. SecureRite has the latest in high-tech security hardware to keep your home safe.

GARAGE DOORS - Justice Department reports show that garage door openers do not provide adequate security for your home. An automatic garage door lock can be easily mounted for an extra level of protection - while you stay safely inside your car.

LANDSCAPING - Common sense and a keen eye are your best tools when looking at your lanscaping. Make sure your bushes and shrubs aren't giving intruders a place to hide under your windows and that trees don't limit exterior lighting. Watch that high branches, trellises and ladders don't give burglars handy access to upper floors. You may even invest in some "prickly" plants and shrubs for below windows.

WINDOWS - Windows are the number one point-of-entry for residential burglaries - with many occuring through first floor windows. Any window lock is better than none - even a simple, economical Thumb Screw Model. There are also Hex Screw, Keyed and Keyed Sliding window locks. If installed with security and safety in mind, window locks, landscaping and security lighting can make even the most remote windows unattractive to a burglar.

DOORS - Doors are a very common entry point for intruders - burglars are usually able to kick them in. All exterior doors (except sliding glass doors) should be metal clad or solid wood. Any door with glass that is within three feet from the door lock needs a double cylinder deadbolt. You should always use a locking doorlock and deadbolt for basic security. Deadbolt throws that are extended into the door provide extra security and doorbars can offer extra resistance to doors getting kicked in. A remote control deadbolt gives you the most advanced home security and convenience available. Also, make sure the hinges on your door are always properly secured.

PERSONAL SAFETY - Infortunately we all find ourselves in situations we'd rather not be in. That is when being smart, alert and above all, prepared can pay-off. Secure Rite offers a full range of personal safety items, such as pepper spray, whistles, alarms, and intercoms, as well as items like medical emergency alarms that can help you avoid personal injury.
